Original era manufacture. ABritish WWI 18 pounder shell casing, which has been artfully decorated by a German Prisoner of War, who placed his name and POW company on the bottomedge.The body of the casing is decorated with an eagle above two crossed American flags, and below a German Iron Cross, with the words World War 1914-1918. Below this decoration is Buy (sic) Albert Grassmann, PW Co.9.Nice old brass patina finish, minor dent on the top opening.
