Original era manufacture. A nice old set of medals, once worn with pride by Ordinary Seaman, D(urbrow) Steadman J24344, who joined the Royal Navy in December 1914, serving aboard HMS St. Vincent throughout the war. He was awarded a Long Service medal aboard HMS Courageous. During the Battle of Jutland 31 May-June 1, 1917, HMS St. Vincent formed part of the 5th Division of the Grand Fleet, engaging the German ships SMS Wiesbaden and SMS Moltke, and firing 98 12 inch shells during the battle. All of the medals are named to him and are complete with their original ribbons. Normal age and wear.
