Original era issue and publication. WWI Distinguished Conduct Medal as awarded to 275 Company Sergeant Major R. Abbott, Lancashire Fusiliers. Named on the edge with original ribbon. Comes with a framed announcement of his award, and a printed copy of his citation. "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During a counter-attack he set a magnificent example by penetrating further into a village than anyone else and bringing back valuable information as to the location of the enemy. Hearing that an enemy officer had entered a house about 300 yards in front of the line, he crossed No Man's Land in daylight and cleverly captured him, this securing important identification". As purchased by us, we added a correct cap badge to the grouping.
