Original era manufacture. A cork bodied, tan cotton covered sun helmet, universally referred to as a Wolseley helmet.Tan leather sweatband, with a white cotton lining, which is emblazoned with the London makers name, Tress & Company. Inked into the lining, next to the brass ventilator is the original owners name, B.A.Keen, 1/5 Suff. Regt. The helmet is quite sound for its age, exhibiting some stains to the exterior, and some mothing to the green wool visor underside, but no major dents in the crown, with a small amount of crackling felt beneath the surface. The puggaree is also intact, but does have some small tears in the top edges of the fabric, nothing detracting. The two brass hooks to hold the chinstrap are in place, but no strap.
