Original era manufacture. This is quite the contraption, but I suppose anything that allowed you to keep your head on your shoulders was quite welcome in the trenches of the Western Front. Collapsible device with a canted mirror at each end, with the accordion-like frame work being able to extend out to about 18 inches. The mirrors measure 4 x 4.5 inches and fit inside to shallow steel trays, one of which displays a very nice makers decal, with the name F. Bird scratched above.A spare mirror (somewhat speckled with age) is wrapped in 1919 dated newspaper and stuck inside the frame work when folded.Khaki canvas belt pouch with a snap closure.
