Original era manufacture. A well made brown leather belt pouch with brass button closure, and clear unit markings on the front side.Inside is a commercially produced roll book by Gale & Polden, London, listing details of 2nd Platoon, 9th (S) Bn, The Border Regt. (Pioneer), Salonika.The pages which follow give details of the man, to include his service number, rank and name, married or single, enlistment date (most show 1914) religion, serial number of his weapon and more.The bookis nearly completely filled out, near to the last page, leaving only a few blank ones. An excellent research source. The leather case measures 3.5 x 5.5 inches.
