Item #61799 : Original period manufacture. Commercially produced card with Lord Kitchener's image at left, on the right, crossed British & French Flags, and lyrics to God Save the King below. The death of Lord Kitchener was a blow to the morale of the British nation, when on the 6th of June 1916, while traveling on a Mission to Russia his ship, HMS Hampshire struck a mine and sank with only 12 survivors. Kitchener and his entire staff of 10 did not survive, his body was never recovered.
