Original period manufacture. An interesting lot consisting of the following,a private purchase hat with acap tally embroidered in gold wire, extra HMS Iron Duke cap tally, andtwo period postcards of the same.Standard blue wool topped hatwith awhite silk lining, and a printed makersname at center, with a nice quality leather sweatband with silk ribbon. HMS Iron Duke served as the flagship of the Grand Fleet during the battle of Jutland, where she severely damaged the German ship, SMS Konig. During WWII she served as a harbor defense ship at Scapa Flow, badly damaged during a Luftwaffe attack, she was run aground to prevent her from sinking. Scrapped in the late 1940's.
