Original era manufacture. Cast copper grip with a ribbed design, and chemically darkened finish. Blue steel finished guard marked ENGLAND. Just below the pommel the number 1 can be seen, and on the opposite side, the MLM initials of a previous owner have been nicely engraved. On the ferrule area of the grip a Broad Arrow 12 is visible. Little of the original blue finish remains on the blade, just traces above the guard. There are a few small spots of surface corrosion visible, the blade has been intelligently sharpened and measures just under 6.75 inches in length. Original period scabbard which has had it's tabs cut away and a pommel strap with snap closure added to the top of the belt loop. A sound knife overall, one which likely has had an interesting history.
