Original era manufacture. The blade measures 15 inches in length with most of the protective black paint finish remaining. No corrosion issues. Brown composition grips secured with five steel rivets. Molded leather scabbard body with a rawhide reinforced throat with steel rivet reinforcement. Brown leather belt loop with pommel straps, the straps are pliable and not dry. Overall, I would say that this set has never seen a lot of service use, pretty much storage wear overall. The blade is a tight fit to the scabbard, this might be due to the black paint finish which I believe was to be removed when issued.
