Original era manufacture. All steel construction with a blue steel finish, which at first glance looks to be the standard WWII British, one piecespike bayonet. However a closer look will reveal that the bayonet is in fact a model unto itself, No.4 MkII* B268, featuringa two piece process, identified by the steel collar at the top of the socket which the blade fits into. This particular bayonet was made by Prince-Smith & Stells, and displays their initials on the side of the socket. The scabbard is of interest as well, sometimes referred to as the MkIII, being made of black plastic with an alloy throat disc, and without the tapered end of the steel scabbard.Comes with a near new condition, 1953 dated, dark OD canvas belt frog. Clean bayonet, normal age and wear.
