Original era manufacture. A very clean condition example of a scarce pattern Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife. The unique style grip is often referred to as a "Ribbed and Bead" design, with alternating lines of raised ridges (ribs) and small squares (beads) comprising the grip design. The grip is of brass with a darkened finish, showing finish wear from handling. The blue finish blade is quite clean, and like the matching finish guard, is unmarked. The brown leather scabbard and oval steel guard are marked ENGLAND. The scabbard is for a later pattern knife, with a 3mm gap between the top of the throat and bottom of the guard.
