Original era manufacture. A three place medal group consisting of the 1939/45 Star, The Africa Star and War Medal.Accompanying the medals is a sizable amount of original documentation regarding the service of Pte AM Lorimer Northumberland Hussars, an Anti-Tank unit of the Royal Artillery.He was captured in 1941 during the Battle of Crete, was injured and transported to a hospital in Athens, where he contracted Beri-Beri and died.The lot includes quite a pile of paperwork to includes his attestation paperwork for the NH in 1939, a laudatory letter from his school Headmaster in 1938, photos of him as a young athlete, and numerous copied paperwork of his internment in Rheinberg War Cemetery and history of the Northumberland Hussars during WWII.
