Original era manufacture. British WWII M1827 Royal Navy sword and scabbard, presented to R.C.E. Martin on promotion to Gunner Royal Navy, 1-4-41, by the Marine Society.Polished steel blade by Wilkinson Sword, London, measuring 31.5 inches in length with a presentation inscription on the obverse of the blade surface. No corrosion issues, or nicks in the cutting edge, there is a slight bend about 4 inches back from the point.Gilded brass folding guard, backstrap and lion headed pommel with an original knot wrapped around the guard. Sound black leather bodied scabbard with brass fittings throughout. Overall a very clean sword.
