Original era issue. British WWII 8 place medal bar. British War Medal, WWI Victory Medal, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Atlantic Star and Burma Star, War Medal, Long Service & Good Conduct Medal Royal Navy. Named on the edge of both WWI Medals J.45725 A.J. NEWTON and on the LSGC it includes the ship name HMS SUFFOLK. Born in 1900, he entered the Royal Navy in 1915 with a discharge in the 1930's, another record same name and service number, shows later service until 1945. HMS Suffolk fired on the Bismarck in May 1941 and later saw service in the Indian Ocean until war's end. Good research potential especially if a Bismarck connection could be made.
