Original era manufacture. This is a really great little grouping of medals and insignia, once worn by Albert Prescott Marble Jackson, born in Nashville Tennessee in 1889.AlbertJackson was the Great-Grandson of General Andrew Jackson, and was the last child born in theHermitage, the ancestral home of Andy Jackson, Hero of New Orleans and President of the United States.Albertpreviously served in the TennesseeNational Guard and joined the Canadian Army in 1916, serving with the Canadian Railway Troops.A number of Americans joined the Canadian Army at this time and were formed into several battalions, nicknamed the American Legion.The lot includes his silver British War Medal, British Victory Medal all named to him, his identity tags displaying his name and service number, 258711. In addition several cap badges and collar insignia of the 127th & 211th battalions of the CEF are included; one of which has been modified with an aluminum insert with the crudely inscribed letters, CRT.Included is a copy of a newspaper article regarding his wedding which gives details about his relationship to Andy Jackson and Canadian WWI service;also copies of his attestation papers when joining the Canadian Army are included.
