Original era manufacture. US Civil War Union Case depicting Seated Liberty with Shield. Full 6th plate, being manufactured by Littlefield, Parsons and Company. At some point in the recent past, a previous owner placed copies of period newspapers to act as a backing, or cover for the images. The case hinges are a little sprung, and won't allow the case to close completely, otherwise the case is in decent shape for it's age and fragility. A portion of the outside inner edge on one side of the case is missing.
