Item #59137 : Original era manufacture. A sound example of a British manufactured bayonet, which was imported into the United States by both the North & South, during the Civil War.17 inch polished steel blade in very clean condition. Proofed on the base E Crown 46. Mix of blue and corrosion patina on the socket, the locking ring turns easily. 18 mm opening at one end, Brass and leather pattern scabbard with a WD Arrow, over a Crown B 1, stamped into the throat.The leather body is sound, no creases or breaks and the stitching has held up quite well.
