Original period manufacture. Clipped signature, G.T. Beauregard 1875, framed with a clear plastic cover over the signature, along with a nice wartime image from a publication. No cover over the image. Frame measures roughly 10 x 16 inches. Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, 1818-1893, West Point class of 1838. Served in Mexico where he was brevetted for gallantry. Briefly served as Superintendent of West Point. During the Civil War he commanded the Confederate batteries which fired at Fort Sumpter, and later was victorious at the Battle of First Bull Run in 1861.
