Original era manufacture. A very clean example, with what looks to be a phosphate finished blade, damage free original finish wood grips, and a pommel finished in the bright. Serial number 2017 on the top of the pommel and below the letters tgf indicating production for Communist East Germany. On the bottom of the tang can be seen the following markings, E3(Lion)48. Blue steel pre WWII scabbard in good condition.
