This is a 1/6 Daguerreotype in a half case. His face is tinted as well as his hands. His left eye (on the right as you face him) is looking off to one side while his good eye looks right at the camera. The marks on his face may be a flaw in the image but looks like they are really on his face. He is very clear. The plate is marked as well as you can see in the pictures.
