These are 1/9 plate images. His is made positive by placing a piece of black material behind the image. Hers is on ruby or purple glass so no need for the extra backing.Possibly husband and wife. She has on a Civil War style dress. Their cheeks are tinted and her ring is gold leafed.These are housed in their original full case with a single latch in the center of the closure.
