European, 18th, Early 19th Century Cuirass Back Plate

Original era manufacture. Leather bound, steel back plate mounted with brass studs, with a good bit of its original cloth lining remaining. The brass mounting straps for the linked brass shoulder straps are present, a portion of the leather edge binding is missing. The cuirass has an old surface rust finish, but not rusted through or twisted out of shape. Certainly dating to the Napoleonic Wars and perhaps earlier. Measures 11.5x14.5 inches.
