Original era manufacture. European, 19th century Briquet with it's original scabbard. Polished steel, curved blade measuring 23 inches in length, clean condition, normal age and wear. Original black leather scabbard, with open seam stitching. We purchased this sword at the 2020 SARS Show in Phoenix, from an older gentleman who had traveled down from Montana to sell his extensive sword collection. We purchased a number of nice old Napoleonic swords from him, which we have posted on our site over the past month's. This is the last one from that pile, and still has his handwritten sales tag with a nice description. Overall the sword is clean, no sharpening to the blade, and an old cleaning to the brass guard. Dated 1851 with a Crown GB proof on the obverse ricasso, which I believe to be Belgian.
