Original era manufacture. A very early, all steel construction cuirass whichwas part of the collection of ancient equipage recently purchased here in Arizona.Our collector friend advised he believed the set to date to the 17th century, and by the size of it appears to have been for a large man of the time.Nice steel patina finish to the exterior of the cuirass, and the halves line up to one another properly. Brass rivet decoration at the base of each half, witha hand forged buckle on the top of each shoulder. The interior of the cuirass displays a very old, and very dark steel patina. No holes or rust-through spots, a great display piece.
