Original era manufacture. A well made miniature officers coatee for a child about 7 or 8 years old.Dark blue wool body and tails, with red wool cuffs, collar and edging to the tails, with white wool piping. Plain brass buttons throughout, gold lace trim on the top of the collar, with twisted gold cording on each shoulder.Brown polished cotton body lining, white cotton sleeve lining, with red cotton lining in the tails. The construction of the coat exhibits machine sewing with handsewn details to the collar and body.As with most garments from this era, some moth damage is present, but overall the coatee presents itself very well, with bright colors and all buttons being present.
