Original era manufacture. A thinner gauge steel, and a bit smaller in size than the later era produced cuirass back plates. Dark steel patina to the interior of the armor, with remnants of a handpainted set of numbers, 96, visible there. On the lower left portion of the armor is a 47 x 50 mm ragged hole, which is likely the result of an impact of a projectile, as the ragged edges of the metal are dented inwards. Perforations for lacing can be seen on the top of each shoulder and at the waist. Purchased at the same time as our two Morion helmets and other bits of ancient relics.
