US 46 Star Flag, 1907-1912 Oklahoma, 7x15 Feet
Item #69624 : Original period manufacture. Massive wool bunting flag measuring approximately 7 x 15 feet. Forty-Six individually sewn white stars dating this to the admission of Oklahoma in November 1907. Flown until 1912 when New Mexico and Arizona were granted statehood. The colors remain bright the stitching is sound, there is a rope hoist sewn inside the white canvas covering, with two substantial steel snap hooks. There is some scattered mothing but nothing dreadful, just something to be expected from a near 120 year old flag. My apologies for the bottom of the flag touching our driveway, my wife Terri and our oldest niece Cari strove mightily at the task, but they are only 5 foot tall and Old Glory is a big girl as you can see. One final comment, in the photo showing the entire flag, there looks to be a white vertical line running through the blue field and stripes. In hand this is not visible, maybe something on my camera lens, it was pretty bright that day.
