Original era photography. A very clear image of the well decorated Colonel of the famed Papal Zouaves, Colonel Baron Athanese Charles Marie Charette de la Contri, 1832-1911. Paris photographers logo on the bottom of the mount. During the Franco-Prussian War, he was wounded and captured at the battle of Longiy December 2nd 1870, he nonetheless successfully escaped, and was promoted to the rank of General.
