Original era manufacture. A stout old warrior which quite likely saw many battles and engagements during it's service life. The curved steel blade measures 34.5 inches in length, exhibiting a deep, dark steel patina to its surface, with evidence of period service sharpening on the cutting edge. Engraved onto the spine in flowing script is the following, "mo flure Imp=le du Klingenthal Coulouax Freres". Heavy mellow brass patina finish three branch guard, backstrap and pommel. Most of the original leather grip wrapping remains, with exposed areas showing the cording and wood beneath. The sword is sound, it does not rattle. We almost kept this, it has a lot of "soul" to it. No scabbard.
