Original period manufacture. Fairly clear image for a daguerreotype, in that the details are very visible. Seated view of an Infantry captain holding the hilt of his sword in his left hand. His shako is visible on the table next to him. Oval frame with a hanging loop on the reverse, measuring 3.50 x 4.25 inches.
