Original era manufacture. European, Napoleonic Briquet with it's original scabbard. Polished steel, curved blade measuring 23 inches in length, clean condition, normal age and wear. Sound black leather scabbard. We purchased this sword at the 2020 SARS Show in Phoenix, from an older gentleman who had traveled down from Montana to sell his extensive sword collection. We purchased a number of nice old Napoleonic swords from him, which we have posted on our site over the past month's. This is the last one from that pile, and still has his handwritten sales tag with a nice description. Overall the sword is clean, showing evidence of a sharpening to the blade, and an old cleaning to the brass guard. There are only a few markings on the weapon, but those a fairly distinct. Sound stitching to the scabbard body, with a fairly deep abrasion on the back edge above the tip.
