Original era photography. Sepia tone CDV image of a Garde Mobile soldier in full marching order. He wearsthe iconic French kepi on his head, double breasted blue wool tunic and red wool trousers. On his back can be seen the top of his box pattern knapsack, and in his hand the French Tabatiere rifle with fixed bayonet. Amiens photographers backmark, with an old penciled inscription, Mobile, 1870 Paris. His name is also present but I cannot make it out. I should have paid more attention in French class.
