Original era photography. Sepia tone CDV image of a seated officer shown waist-up, and holding the hilt of his officers sword in his left hand. He wears a kepi on his head with a regiment or battalion number of 137 on the front. The reverse is without a backmark, and at top a crossed out name in ballpoint ink, while below, is a period ink inscription for the date of 12 February 1871.Image loss at the top corners of the photo as shown.
