French M1821 Infantry Officers Sword & Scabbard, Etched Blade

Original era manufacture. Polished curved steel blade measuring 27.5 inches in length, with evidence of an old sharpening to the edge. On both sides of the blade are etched designs of a military nature. Two branch, brass grip and pommel cap, fishskin wrapped grip, bound with single strand copper wire. Unbroken black leather bodied scabbard with brass fittings. Scattered open areas to the stitching but nothing serious. The scabbard fittings are secure, but do move a bit on the scabbard body. A nice looking old sword.
