Original era manufacture. A very clean example with a brass pommel and sound wooden grips. T-shaped polished steel blade measuring 21 inches in length, even steel patina finish to the guard. St. Etienne arsenal marked on the spine, and dated 1878.Nearly dent free blue steel finished scabbard, with minimal light surface corrosion and bumps. There are a few minor bumps and bruises to the grips, but overall this is a very clean example of this well-made bayonet. Matched numbers guard to scabbard, 27922.
