Original era manufacture. Mexican, one Peso coin,struck during the ill-fated reign of Maximilian Emperor of Mexico.Maximilian was the younger brother of the Emperor Franz-Joseph of Austria and was put on the throne of the French controlled Mexican Empire by Napoleon III. He was executed by the victorious Mexican army in 1867.The coin is of silver and measures about 37mm. Silver patina finish withwear,toning and staining from age and use.
