French Model 1831 Infantry Short Sword

Original era manufacture. Gladius inspired weapon, with a 19 inch polished steel, double edged blade. The blade is clean, single nick in the edge, with scattered staining from old cleaned surface corrosion, no deep pitting to the surface. Heavy cast brass guard and grip with a mellow patina finish. Sound black leather bodied scabbard with brass trim. There is a an old crease in the body but it has not weakened the leather, and is in no danger of breaking.
