Original era manufacture. Brass handled, Gladius type short sword with a very clean blade. Bright surface showing minor scattered age mottling with no corrosion issues. Sound black leather bodied scabbard with a brass throat and chape. The throat is not marked with a navy anchor. Model 1831 signed Pihet Freres (Brothers) Chatellerault 1833.
