Original era manufacture. A very clean, .69 caliber flintlock smoothborepistol, made at the Charelville Arsenal, and produced in the same year ofNapoleon's Grande Armee's invasion of Russia. This pistol is very sound, the action works properly and holds on a half-cock, the markings are very clear, being dated 1812 on the barrel and grip. The metal is very smooth with no issues, and the stock shows normal age and use. Overall the pistol displays evidence of an old cleaning, but is beginning to work up a patina again. The screw heads are not rounded, and as statedearlier the metal is very clean. The issues with the pistol are the ramrod is missing, and the upper portion, or jaw, of the hammer is missing along with its turn screw. So it's going to need some donor parts to complete, but is a very nice old pistol from the time of Napoleon I. *****UPDATE*****We are now including the replacement parts necessary to putthis oldeflinchelocke back in presentable condition. It includes ramrod, upper jaw piece, and jaw screw. The upper jaw piece needs to be trimmed and polished, not abig job.For what itis worth, these parts were purchased from the Rifle Shop in Oklahoma, a good outfit with a quality product.
