Original era manufacture. A scarce helmet developed by the French Navy to give sailors the ability for gas defense while wearing a steel protective helmet.Based on a modified M26 Army Adrian helmet with a shortened front visor and the removal of the characteristic comb. On the rear of the helmet a mounting point for thegasmask filter was place with the hose extending over the wearers head, which in turn connected to the top of the facemask. Our example is complete with it's original leather liner and removable chinstrap. Battleship gray paint finish with denting at the top of the helmet.
