Original era manufacture. Silver colored alloy buckle displaying a Medusa head on the two discs with a serpent connecting hook. In the excellent collector reference The French Army 1914-1918 by Mirouze & Dekerle, a similar buckle is shown on page 585 being worn by General Estienne around 1935.
