Original era manufacture. A very nice quality Infantry officers sword made by the Arsenal of Chatellerault in 1916. The polished steel blade measures 30.5 inches in length, with clear markings on the spine. The blade is very clean, with a slight bend to the left about 8 inches back from the point. The leather bumper is in place on the base of the blade, highly decorative gilded brass guard serial numbered 58386, with a black leather wrapped grip, bound with single strand twisted wire. Polished steel scabbard with a single suspension ring, with a matching serial number 58386 on the band. A very clean, and well made sword. Matching numbers.
