Original era manufacture. A very sound example of the classic French steel helmet of WWI. Artillery plate on the front with a postwar applied brass visor decoration honoring the veterans service during the war 1914-1918. The helmet is complete with its original liner and chinstrap, showing some light scattered denting to the shell, with about 90% original hand applied paint finish remaining. The brass visor decoration is secured on the right side by a brass headed split brad, on the left, an old replacement using a small bent nail.  Large size, about a 59.
