Original era manufacture. Dark horizon blue paint finish with scattered scratching and light denting to its surface.Fragments of the leather liner remain, the corrugated aluminum strips on each side are intact, as is the dark blue wool fabric to which the leather is stitched to...no chinstrap. The Engineer (Genie) plate on the front of the helmet matches in color the exterior of the helmet, and I feel has been on this helmet since 1918.
