French WWI Era Modified Gras Bayonet/Fighting Knife

Original period manufacture. This is a very interesting example, being a standard pattern 1874 Gras bayonet which has been aresenal shortened to an 11 inch blade length with knife type point. In addition, the quillon has been expertly trimmed with the end flattened. Matching length steel scabbard which has a ball tip specifically made to match the diameter of the scabbard end. The modifications have been very well done, never seen another quite like it.
