Original era manufacture. An early production bayonet, with a 20 inch cruciform blade in original finish, steel lock button & guard with the quillon removed. Being an early production bayonet, the grip is removable. There is a bump on the edge of the muzzle ring, otherwise the bayonet is as new.Tubular steel scabbard with a nice blue finish and dent free. A very presentable example of the WWI French Lebel rifle bayonet. An interesting observation has been made regarding this bayonet, by one of our long time and knowledgeable customers, a respected participant on many on-line forums. His opinion is that this bayonet was made by the American firm Remington, and intended for the French Berthier rifle. These were made in the US, and due to the end of hostilities in 1918, never went to France. It is devoid of any markings, to include a serial number.
