Original era manufacture. Nice period medal with two stars mounted to the ribbon, one bronze for being mentioned in dispatches at the regimental level, and a silver star for divisional level. French pattern double mounting prong suspension, original ribbon shows wear, some light denting to the reverse on the dated medallion.  Many Allied soldiers received the Croix de Guerre for bravery during WWI, including US Marines of the 2nd Division.
