Original era manufacture. This is a fairly complete, collector assembled set which covers most of the bases in rigging out a WWII French Soldier. The set includes the following; Adrian pattern steel helmet, wool overcoat with collar insignia, golf-type wool trousers, leg puttees, leather waistbelt, two leather ammunition pouches, haversack, canteen and WWII French gasmask. The helmet is complete with liner and chinstrap with some light surface rust to the exterior of the helmet. The liner is loose and needs reattaching. The overcoat is in near new condition, large size but is missing the top most button. The collar emblems denote the 58th BMM (Mobile Machinegun Btln)with clear issue stamps in the lining. Issue quality kneelength breeches showing wear and use, these are in a smaller proportionate size than the overcoat. Ratty pair of puttees, very pliable brown leather waistbelt & suspenders, good match to the ammunition pouches. The cover of the canteen is heavily mothed on one side but very clean on the other, just turn it around for display. The haversack shows wear and use with visible repairs. The gasmask is clean although the eyepieces lenses are broken. The light olive colored canvas case is clean and is complete with its shoulder and waistbelt. Sold as a lot, ready for your mannequin.
