Original era manufacture. Nice vintage looking medal bar which was worn by a veteran of the battle of Koniggratz during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. The 1866 medal shows a fair amount of original gilding on its surface, the reverse bears the name of the pivotal battle of that conflict, Koniggratz (also known as the battle of Sadowa)fought on July 3rd 1866, with the medal reportedly made from captured Austrian cannon. The second medal is the Kriegsdenkmnze fr die Feldzge 1870-71 marked on the rim Aus Erobertem Geschutze (from captured cannon). The third medal is the 25th Anniversary medal of the 1870-71 war and is also marked as made from captured cannon. The fourth and final medal is the 1797-1897 centennial medal for the birth of Kaiser Wilhelm I. All of the medals are sewn to the reverse of the bar with the 1870 anniversary medal needing to be restitched. Shows honest age and wear.
